We recently caught up with Dr. Holly MacKenna, Integrative Psychiatrist and owner of Dara Wellness in New Orleans. She's a busy mom and physician, but still finds time to do things like be the Medical Director for Strong Minds with Special Olympics Louisiana, and so much more. Most recently she was featured in New Orleans Magazine as a Steel Magnolia for 2022. Congrats, Dr. Holly!

So, it's taken us, Cairelle and Laura, a hot minute to sit with and attempt to process the reversal of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court. How does one come to grips with the fact that they do not have bodily sovereignty? We have considered the various ways to support the cause of choice and access to care; there are so many! We decided the best way for us is to contribute to the non-profits who are doing the "boots on the ground" work of helping those in need to access abortion. Our personal choice is The Brigid Alliance. You can check them out online at www.brigidalliance.org. They've got a solid rating with Charity Navigator.

We hope you will join us in working, in your own way, to ensure that choice, and unfettered access to healthcare, is available to all. Our thoughts are with the women, trans men, and non-binary people who are directly affected by this ruling. Keep faith, as we WILL make our way through this, guided by the light of Brigid's flame. 🔥
